Girls who are sexually active and in the age group of 15 to 19 usually have partners of the same age or about 3 years older than them. Girls whose partners were older than them by at least 4 years or more consisted of about 25%. While those who became teenage mothers usually had partners who were at least 6 years older than them.
Teenagers who had partners who were considerably older than them were usually consistently active sexually and
did not use any kind of contraception. These girls were more likely to get caught with an unplanned pregnancy.
